Susan G. Komen

I have a new passion in life! I know, I know! If you know me well, I have many passions that come and go. When I was little it was dancing, then teaching, scrap booking, crafting, cooking, sewing, there seriously is a list longer than this page can hold. This new passion is something I didn't wish or choose by any means.

My grandma, Betty, was diagnosed last July with breast cancer. She was 80 years old! 80!! On a routine mammogram, the doctor found a "syst." The only time in my life I have seen her cry about herself. Really, she is the most strong, courageous woman! She has battled many health issues, but her heart and ours were broken knowing what could come out of this situation. Well, after a biopsy a week later, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. My grandma found out early! Praise God! She had no suffering and within 3 weeks from diagnosis, the lumpectomy was complete. 6 weeks of radiation was the next step. I laughed so hard the day she called me up, "Stephanie, I got my first tattoo today!"  A tattoo on her radiation site! At 80, my grandma is still hipper than I am and has a tattoo! Go Grandma!

Today, she is cancer free and is giving me the courage to step outside of my comfort zone for a new passion. I will walk in the Susan G. Komen 60 mile 3 days for a cure walk. It will test me physically and emotionally more than I will know. But, ........it is 3 days...... 3 days........women battle cancer for months, years, sometimes decades and I need to support them in this tangible way.

If you would like to help me there are 2 ways:)
1. All hair clip purchases from my etsy store will fund me! Yep, I want all the proceeds to help find a cure!! And they are pretty cute, so buy one for a friend's kid too and help me reach my goal.

2. Donate to me directly on my donation page. It will be up soon. Even a dollar is closer than I was before.:)

THANK YOU for helping me passionately participate in this event!!
